I loved Strawberry Shortcake as a kid.  In fact, I think I liked anything strawberry back then - strawberry scented erasers, strawberry scented stickers, the strawberry strip of Neopolitan ice cream etc. She reminds me of everything I loved from my childhood. 

She's a bit of a bobble head so she needs some wiring inside her head and body to keep her relatively upright. Even with that, she's still top heavy. 

Because she's top heavy, I was tempted to make her hat removable. But that would make the hat easy to lose so it remains pinned to her head.  

She contains seven balls of yarn and is one of the largest toys I make. 

I've only made her once before and I remembered that I didn't like the way I had done her hair that time. So this time, I paid extra attention to making her hair look nice. 

This little lady headed off today to her new home in Dunedin, to be a forever doll to a very special little girl. I hope she likes her.
